How I got here
I studied computer engineering, then completed a master's in software technology, and somewhere in the middle of it admitted something that felt almost embarrassing at the time: I did not have a flair for coding. The obvious consolation route was IT support and a stack of certifications. I refused a career chosen by default and went looking for the work I was actually good at, which turned out to be understanding how a business works and translating that into something a delivery team can build.
That work became business analysis. Over thirteen years I have led business analysis and digital transformation across thirteen markets, in telecoms, real estate and the public sector, including organisations like IHS Towers and Renascence CX. The projects ranged from HR transformation and workflow automation to productivity tracking and legal and fiscal change requests.
Why Flotog exists
Nobody figures this career out alone, and most people who try pay for it in years and avoidable mistakes. I founded Flotog BA Insights in 2012 to pass the craft on in a way that is practical, honest and built around real outcomes. Since then I have trained more than three thousand people, from career changers taking their first BA role to mid-level analysts stepping up to senior, and teams building BA capability inside their organisations.
Everything I teach comes from situations I have actually handled: requirements that looked perfect and still failed, stakeholders who disagreed about what problem we were solving, and deadlines that had to be renegotiated honestly.
