My story
I did not set out to become a business analyst. I started out solving problems that happened to sit between the business and its technology, and I discovered that was the work I loved most.

My first real taste of it was in London, leading an IT transformation and delivering new systems for a growing organisation. Watching online engagement climb by nearly half once the right tools and processes were in place taught me something I have never forgotten: most business problems are not technology problems. They are clarity problems.

That lesson followed me to IHS Towers, where over six years I grew from analyst to managing business analysis and process transformation across a shared services centre serving twelve markets. I led a full Dynamics 365 implementation across thirteen entities, trained more than three thousand users, cut process turnaround times by a quarter, and reduced process variation by seventy percent.
Later, based in Dubai, I automated a salary process that used to take two months down to two weeks. These are the kinds of results that come from listening properly before building anything.
Along the way I kept being asked the same thing by younger colleagues: how did you learn to think like this? How do I break in, or get better, or get taken seriously as a BA? I realised that the methods I use every day are completely learnable, and that no one had ever shown most of these people the path. So I started teaching, first on LinkedIn by writing article every workday for a year. These posts garnered interest from people, and I kept getting asked if I would like to coach and mentor them. This gave birth to Flotog BA Insights, and that is what Flotog is really about. Practical business analysis, taught by someone who still does the work, and a genuine commitment to bringing new talent into a field that changed my life.
WHAT I BELIEVE
Practical over theoretical
You learn by building real things, not memorising frameworks. Everything I teach, I have used on live projects.
Real outcomes
The goal is never a certificate on a wall. It is a job, a promotion, a project delivered, a team made more capable.
Giving back
Business analysis opened doors for me. Developing the next generation of BAs is the part of this work I care about most.
